What does a Financial Modeler do?

A Financial Modeler is responsible for creating mathematical models that simulate a company’s or investment’s financial performance. They analyze historical data, market trends, and economic indicators to develop forecasts and projections for revenue, expenses, cash flows, and other financial metrics. Financial Modelers use these models to evaluate investment opportunities, assess risk, and make strategic decisions. They may also develop scenario analyses to test the impact of different variables on financial outcomes and support financial planning, budgeting, and valuation processes within organizations or for clients. Additionally, they communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
